Australian suburb rankings

League tables built from 2021 Census and SEIFA open data. Every metric shows both ends: the highest and the lowest suburbs nationally, with per-state cuts.

These rankings sit on top of the full suburb database. Pick a metric to see the national leaders and the other end of the scale, then click any suburb for its complete demographic profile. Figures describe whole suburbs at the 2021 Census, not individual households, and the labels stay neutral and factual: a higher or lower number is just that, not a verdict on a place or its residents.

All rankings are computed at suburb level only. Local government area income is a derived estimate and is deliberately excluded from these tables. Housing-cost metrics (rent) measure price levels, not affordability, and SEIFA is a relative socio-economic index where 1000 is the national mean.
